An International Meeting Dedicated to Keratopigmentation

BIOTIC Phocea team and discussions with surgeons

This third edition of the Kolor Congress brought together specialists from around the world to discuss the medical, reconstructive, and aesthetic challenges of keratopigmentation.

For BIOTIC Phocea, the congress was an opportunity to reconnect with long-standing partners, meet loyal clients, and establish new partnerships with surgeons committed to advancing this discipline.

These discussions confirmed the growing interest of the ophthalmic community in modern corneal pigmentation techniques.

BIOCHROMAEYES® and BIOCHROMAEYES® Aesthetic in the Spotlight

BIOCHROMAEYES and BIOCHROMAEYES Aesthetic products at Kolor Congress 2026

Throughout the congress, visitors had the opportunity to discover the pigment ranges developed by BIOTIC Phocea for medical and aesthetic keratopigmentation.

The BIOCHROMAEYES® range, registered as a Class IIb Medical Device, is intended for reconstructive and therapeutic keratopigmentation indications, including iris defects, ocular trauma, certain corneal opacities, and aesthetic eye reconstruction needs.

The BIOCHROMAEYES® Aesthetic range, specifically developed for aesthetic eye color change, is manufactured according to BIOTIC Phocea’s quality standards and benefits from FDA registration. It has been designed to provide excellent coverage, strong color stability, and optimal color precision.

A Unique Pigment Color Creation Workshop

A dedicated workshop focused on pigment color creation was held during the congress.

The attending surgeons were able to work directly on shades, understand the subtleties of pigment blends, and discuss the parameters influencing the final result after keratopigmentation.

This workshop strengthened exchanges between practitioners and the laboratory, supporting a collaborative approach focused on innovation, precision, and experience sharing.

Two Presentations by BIOTIC Phocea

Sandie TIZIANO, CEO at the Industry Corner

Sandie Tiziano - Industry Corner

During the Industry Corner, Sandie Tiziano presented the history of BIOTIC Phocea and the laboratory’s role in the development of modern keratopigmentation.

She highlighted the laboratory’s medical origins, founded by Dr. Jean-Paul Tiziano, plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and its long-standing commitment to restorative dermopigmentation applications.

Her presentation retraced the key milestones of BIOTIC Phocea’s innovation: the creation of the laboratory in Marseille, the first medical-grade pigments, and the launch of BIOCHROMAEYES® in 2011, developed specifically for the cornea.

She also presented the evolution toward BIOCHROMAEYES® Aesthetic, designed to support aesthetic eye color change with a high level of quality and safety requirements.

Iuliana MOÏSE, PhD, During the Plenary Session

Iuliana Moïse - Scientific Session

During the scientific abstract session, Iuliana MOÏSE, PhD, Head of R&D, presented the laboratory’s work on the safety of pigment dispersions used in keratopigmentation.

Her presentation emphasized the importance of a comprehensive safety approach, from raw material qualification to final batch release.

She highlighted BIOTIC Phocea’s quality system, controlled-environment manufacturing, microbiological analyses, stability assessments, performance controls, and biocompatibility studies.

This presentation reaffirmed a strong conviction: medical and aesthetic applications must rely on an equivalent level of rigor to ensure safety, reliability, and reproducibility.
